This table represents the 2021 and 2031 Peel Regional Council adopted (ROPA 24) and provincially approved forecast numbers for Peel and the local municipalities. These forecasts are provincially allocated to Peel Region under The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2006). While these forecasts align to Peel Regional Official Plan ROPA 24, they are derived using 2006 Census base year data. The Region is in the process of bringing these forecasts into conformity with Amendment 2 to the Growth Plan. Updated forecasts will be provided once a new Regional Official Plan amendment has been adopted by Council and approved by the Province.
Figures have been rounded to the nearest thousand. Totals for Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon may not add up to Peel’s total due to rounding. Forecasts were provided for Census years (2006, 2011, 2016, etc.) and years between were calculated through interpolation.
When Should I Use These Forecasts?
If your work or research is related to the Regional Official Plan or Planning (as in city planning), then you need to look at the current Council-endorsed Forecasts that are in the current Regional Official Plan.
When Shouldn't I Use These Forecasts?
If your work isn't related to the Regional Official Plan or Planning, you can likely use more detailed and up-to-date forecasts that are available on the portal. There are the Draft, Endorsed for Consultation forecasts (2016-2041) at the Secondary Plan Area level that are being proposed for the next Official Plan update and the Unofficial Forecasts (2016-2041) at the Census Tract level.
