The Shanghai Spoken Corpus (SSC) is a collection of samples of the Chinese dialect spoken in the Municipality of Shanghai, China. The Shanghai Spoken Corpus project has been funded by a research grant from the China Institute, University of Alberta and funding from the Department of Linguistics, University of Alberta. The corpus has been developed by Jiali Mao and John Newman in the Department of Linguistics, University of Alberta. The present version of the corpus consists of spoken data collected in China and Canada (see About the corpus).
