In the fall of 2019, the Kingston Moves household travel survey was conducted to establish a
new baseline of travel patterns and behaviour in the City. The results provide a snapshot of daily
travel at a household, neighbourhood, and city-wide level that will inform neighbourhood-level
transportation planning work, as well as broader city-wide transportation policies and future
capital project planning.
The data collected is divided into three datasets: Households,
Persons, and Trips. All three datasets are generalized to protect
personal information privacy. For a detailed Data Dictionary which
describes the meaning of each field and the collected data values,
please request the full PDF report which was presented to council by submitting a service request.
