Brock, Erica; Alcantara, Lucas; Husiny, Jaber; Edwards, Michelle; Huitema, Carly 2024-09-23 This is a data schema created using Agri-food Data Canada's Semantic Engine . Data schemas describe data that are collected on an ongoing basis from research centres, and provide add-on documentation that enhances the value of raw data. This schema is used to organize and manage data related to health events for dairy cattle within the DairyComp Herd Management Software. It structures how health events are recorded in the DairyComp Herd Management Software, and enables the integration of health event records with other data such as milk production, breeding records, and preventive treatments. Data described in this schema is sample data, to request access to the related data, please visit the Ontario Dairy Research Centre Data Portal.

This schema is applicable to all datasets collecting data from records of once-in-life events entered on DairyComp Herd Management Software. Once-in-life events refer to significant, unique occurrences that typically happen only once in an animal’s lifetime, such as the initial calving, first breeding, or major health interventions. Once-in-life events are integrated with other data collected in the DairyComp Herd Management Software, such as routine health checks, milk production records, and breeding information. Data schemas describe data that are collected on an ongoing basis from research centres, and provide add-on documentation that enhances the value of raw data. This schema is applicable to all datasets collecting data on feed pellets dispensed to cows at the Voluntary Milking System (VMS) during milking. There is no scale to weigh the actual amount of feed consumed. Each record is the total amount (kg) of feed pellets dispensed hourly - e.g. hour = 14:00:00 and feed_dispensed = 1.5, therefore this cow ate 1.5 kg of feed from 1 pm to 2 pm. If a cow started milking at 03:55:00 and finished at 04:05:00 there will be two records for that session, one for the amount dispensed until 4 am and another for the amount dispensed until 5 am. Milking start and end times are not necessarily the same times for feeding, i.e. a cow could start milking at 03:55:00 but only start eating at 04:01:00, therefore she would only have one record for that session to reflect the amount she ate until 5 am. This schema is designed for the collection and representation of activity sensor data from the Allflex/Heatime System (SCR) used in dairy cattle management. The Allflex/Heatime (SCR) System is an advanced livestock monitoring solution designed specifically for dairy cattle. It utilizes a combination of wearable collars and software to collect and analyze data related to animal health, behavior, and productivity. Features of this system include: Activity monitoring, rumination tracking, heat detection, and health alerts. Map search instructions

1.Turn on the map filter by clicking the “Limit by map area” toggle.
2.Move the map to display your area of interest. Holding the shift key and clicking to draw a box allows for zooming in on a specific area. Search results change as the map moves.
3.Access a record by clicking on an item in the search results or by clicking on a location pin and the linked record title.
Note: Clusters are intended to provide a visual preview of data location. Because there is a maximum of 50 records displayed on the map, they may not be a completely accurate reflection of the total number of search results.
