Parks Canada / Parcs Canada 2023-07-17 Bruce Peninsula National Park monitors trends and exceedance in water quality index by sampling for nutrients, major ions, and metals in two lakes (Cyprus and Emmett) and three rivers (Willow Creek, Crane River and Dorcas Bay Creek) throughout the year. This data set also includes other inland water quality sites in Bruce Peninsula National Park that are not included in an ongoing monitoring project.

Parks Canada / Parcs Canada 2023-10-05 Water quality was assessed in 32 inland lakes within Pukaskwa National Park, greater than 8 hectares in surface area. Samples were collected to assess nutrients, heavy metals, and chlorophyll a content via helicopter. Physical measurements using a YSI sonde and Secchi disk were also taken. Heavy metal samples were analysed by the National Laboratory for Environmental Testing (NLET), Burlington, ON and nutrient samples were analysed by Natural Resources Canada, Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

Parks Canada / Parcs Canada 2024-02-29 Many processes and functions in wetlands are driven by water quality, this measure can therefore determine the composition and health of wetland species. Point Pelee National Park collects several parameters to monitor water quality in the park wetlands such as turbidity, total suspended solids, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, and specific conductivity.

Parks Canada / Parcs Canada 2024-02-06 GBINP monitors water quality in coastal wetlands to report on nutrient loads, chemical and biological properties of the coastal wetlands within Park boundaries. The park uses Water Quality Index to assess this measure - which is also a part of the Great Lakes Shoreline monitoring network.

Map search instructions

1.Turn on the map filter by clicking the “Limit by map area” toggle.
2.Move the map to display your area of interest. Holding the shift key and clicking to draw a box allows for zooming in on a specific area. Search results change as the map moves.
3.Access a record by clicking on an item in the search results or by clicking on a location pin and the linked record title.
Note: Clusters are intended to provide a visual preview of data location. Because there is a maximum of 50 records displayed on the map, they may not be a completely accurate reflection of the total number of search results.
