2000 The findings of the Environics Global Issues Monitor, 2001 Survey are based on the results of face-to face or telephone interviews with representative samples of about 1,000 citizens in each of 20 countries on five continents. Environics 2001 Global Issues Monitor survey was conducted in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United States. Research was conducted by respected social research institutes in each country between November 23, 2000 and February 9, 2001. In Canada, the survey was conducted by Environics Research Group Ltd. It consisted of a nation-wide telephone survey with a sample of 1,015 individuals, 18 years and older carried out between December 11 and December 19, 2000. 1990 This study was conducted as part of the "Support for Democratic Politics: The Case of Canada" study funded by the United States National Science Foundation. Its purpose was to study the political attitudes and behavior of the Canadian electorate.The 1990 survey's 161 variables are derived from an extensive battery of questions on respondents' evaluations of national and personal economies and their support for national political authorities and for regional and community politics. Also included are demographic characteristics of respondents, such as occupation, education, language, age, life satisfaction, and income.

1984 The Decima Quarterly is a survey of public attitudes of Canadians on a wide range of matters related to public affairs, which was conducted every three months from the first quarter of 1980 until the first quarter of 1995. Each survey involves interviews of some 150+ questions with a random sample size of 1,500 Canadian citizens.

2013 As part of its ongoing Focus Canada public opinion research program, the Environics Institute partnered with the David Suzuki Foundation this fall to ask Canadians about the issue of climate change, to determine how perceptions have changed (or not) over the past 12 months. The survey is based on telephone interviews conducted with 2,003 Canadians between October 1 and 17, 2013. A sample of this size drawn from the population produces results accurate to within plus or minus 2.2 percentage points in 19 out of 20 samples.

1996 Environics Environmental Monitor (EEM) is a public opinion survey of Canadian citizens. Currently, data are available through the Canadian Opinion Research Archive from 1987. EEM is produced by Environics Research Group Limited, Toronto, Ontario. Environics Environmental Monitor, 1995-4/1996-1 is a telephone survey of 1,510 adult Canadians conducted during the period from January 4 to January 19, 1996.

2012 The 2012 AmericasBarometer survey was conducted in Spring 2012 in 26 countries, with a total sample of 40,971 individuals (with individual country samples ranging from 1,412 in Haiti to 3,009 in Bolivia). The questionnaire consisted of a core set of questions (tailored to country-specific terminology) and was administered by a domestic research institute, in most cases university-base . In all countries except Canada and the USA, the survey was administered as in person interviews in people’s homes. The Canadian survey is an adapted version of the core version developed by LAPOP, with appropriate customization of terminology and the inclusion of additional questions of particular relevance to the Canadian context. The survey was conducted in English and French by Elemental Data Collection Inc., using an established online panel with a representative sample of 1,501 Canadians (aged 18 and over) between May 15 and 22, 2012. The sample was weighted by region, age and gender to match the country's population. The survey focuses on the following themes: • Attitudes about democracy and public institutions • Citizen engagement in the democratic process • Protection of democratic rights and freedoms • The rule of law and personal security • Government’s role in economic equality
