The NRCan Bottom Pressure Recorder 78 was deployed on 2015-09-04 at Cascadia Basin. Cascadia Basin is located in the abyssal plain of the Pacific Ocean. At this location, hydrologic conditions in sediment-sealed igneous crust, Tsunami propagation, cool-water deep-sea microbes, and abyssal plain ecosystems are observed. This device is a Bottom Pressure Recorder. Bottom Pressure Recorders (BPR) are instruments that can detect small changes in pressure on the seafloor. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
