Description:

Boundaries for the lakes in Alberta and related information were collected from the source data, hard copy maps digitized where necessary, and subsequently merged into the final dataset. The data was validated against more recent SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) and IRS (Indian Remote Sensing) imagery and corrected where necessary. The published dataset contains the lake boundary and bathymetric contours formatted as a downloadable vector data.
