This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly social and political issues. The questions ask opinions on the liberal leadership, drug use in sport and dealing with prostitution. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as the factors that influence voting, political interest and feelings about shopping. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: the influence of George H.W. Bush on Canada U.S. relations; the secularization and commercialization of Christmas; drug use in sports; the abortion pill; pornography; abuse of the elderly; prostitution and its regulation; shopping and a cashless society; mandatory prayer in schools; the Free Trade Agreement; government fiscal priorities; the liberal leadership; voting choice; factors that effect vote; should Ed Broadbent remain leader of the NDP; best Prime Minister; and political participation and interest. Basic demographic variables are also included.
