Zoning By-law 2014-014 is the comprehensive zoning by-law applying to all properties in Oakville south of Dundas Street and north of Highway 407. It is the rule book controlling how land and buildings are used, the location of buildings on a lot, building heights, and other provisions necessary to ensure proper development. It was developed through the inZone project, which ran from October 2011 to February 2014, and implements the policies of the Livable Oakville Plan. Remaining lands in Oakville are covered by the North Oakville Zoning By-law 2009-189, as amended.
Zoning By-law 2014-014 was passed by Council on February 25, 2014, and partially deemed in force by the Ontario Municipal Board on February 23, 2015. Since then, additional sections have been deemed in force by the Board. Certain sections of the by-law are not yet in force, as noted throughout the document. Properties or regulations under appeal are covered with a blue tone. On these matters, compliance with both Zoning By-law 1984-63 and Zoning By-law 2014-014 is required.
