Government of Manitoba 2019-02-24 Tile layer of Canada's managed forested or treed areas and water used in the Story Map of Forest Management in Canada, 2017. This tiled layer data represents Canada's forested areas (& water) used in the Story Map of Forest Management in Canada, 2017. Canada's forest management classification map classifies all land and inland water areas. It does not differentiate forest areas from non-forest areas. Treed areas can be identified using a separate map layer that was derived using satellite data. Treed areas were used as a proxy for forested areas having a canopy closure of 25% or greater and a tree height of 5 m or greater. Government of Manitoba 2017-07-19 The purpose of this layer is to provide end users with a spatial representation of the Designated Areas in adopted Development Plans and their consolidated amendments in Manitoba. It also allows users of the data to undertake a variety of land use planning analyses based on Development Plan Designations. This layer is intended to be a source of data delivery as well as usage in situ. This dataset is comprised of boundary geometry representing the Development Plan Designations for all of the Development Plan bylaws (as defined in The Planning Act) in force and effect within the Province of Manitoba. Spatial referencing of the designations is based on the best available land parcel data for each municipality. Where available, land parcel data based on registered survey plans and ground control coordinates was used. Otherwise, the reference grid maintained by Manitoba Sustainable Development was used. The delineation of the boundaries is set by the bylaw establishing or amending the boundary of each designation. Dataset content is subject to: Ongoing changes in designated areas which are determined by amendments to adopted Development Plans or the adoption of new Development Plans. Ongoing development and maintenance of the land parcel datasets. Improvements to the land parcel data are used to improve the positional accuracy of the Development Plan designation polygons. As of the publication date of this dataset, the following known issues remain: For designation boundaries that include water boundaries, the water boundary that best reflects the intended designation boundary was used. In some instances, road allowances on a municipal boundary are included in both of the adjoining municipalities. Please visit the Manitoba Municipal Relations website for more information at www.gov.mb.ca/mr. The Development Plan Designations data reflects the most current designations at the time of export and was uploaded to Manitoba Maps as a feature layer. Fields Included: OBJECTID: Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated DP_BYLAW: Number assigned by planning authority to identify a specific bylaw DPA_BYLAW: Number assigned to a bylaw that amends an existing development plan bylaw PLANNINGDISTRICT: Name of the Planning District establishing the bylaws PLANNINGREGION: Area of responsibility for a Community and Regional Planning Branch (In the Department of Municipal Relations) office ACRES: Area of each polygon expressed in acres DES_NAME: Name of Designation as stated in the Development Plan bylaw DES_CATEGORY: Designation category as interpreted by Municipal Relations RES_MIN_ACRES_PER_LOT: Minimum acreage for a residential lot as defined by the Development Plan bylaw RES_MAX_ACRES_PER_LOT: Maximum acreage for a residential lot as defined by the Development Plan bylaw MUNI_NO: Manitoba municipality identifier number MUNI_NAME: Name of municipality AU_LIMIT: Animal Unit limit as set by the Development Plan Policy https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/legal/OpenMB-Information-Data-Use-Licence.pdf

Government of Manitoba 2020-05-12 Highway Planning and Design's 2018 Manitoba Road Network. The 2018 Manitoba Road Network was created by Manitoba Infrastructure, Highway Engineering, Highway Planning and Design (HPD). The department’s linear referencing system (LRS) uses Control Sections as a linear referencing method (LRM). The LRM is the digital representation of the Highway Network in Manitoba. The features indicate highway number and highway identity. This data was corrected using 1:60,000 digital ortho aerial photography dated from 1991-1998. Linear features have been updated on a yearly basis using GPS data, CAD files and 50cm imagery from 2007-2014, and is considered accurate to two-to-seven metres. Please note that this feature layer primarily contains only the roads that Manitoba Infrastructure is responsible for, i.e. Provincial Trunk Highways, Provincial Roads and Access Roads. However, you may also see Earth Roads (under construction) or Other roads (such as those passing through national parks and are federal responsibility).Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field description.) Government of Manitoba 2024-04-10 This dataset represents Manitoba's digital forest inventory for the 1960s. Please note that because of data capture techniques used for this inventory, its base features (e.g., water, roads) may not align with other datasets (e.g., Google Maps, Esri Basemaps) This dataset represents Manitoba's digital forest inventory for the 1960s. It was created from forest inventories captured by photo-interpretation during different time periods in the 1960s. It consists of original inventory polygons without any subsequent modifications, such as disturbance or silvicultural activities. Please note that, because of data capture techniques used for this inventory, its base features (e.g., water, roads) may not align with other datasets (e.g., Google Maps, Esri Basemaps). This dataset covers a large portion of the middle of Manitoba, and is almost exclusively within the Boreal Plains and Boreal Shield ecozones. Forest inventories created in the 1960s used the Forest Resource Inventory (FRI) standards to capture details about the land base relevant to forestry, along with non-forest base features. Data collected in the FRI standard included, among other things, tree species composition, site class (site growing conditions), cutting class (stand maturity, and a proxy for age), crown closure and productivity. This dataset also includes estimated age and year of photography attributes. This feature class is also available for download from DataMB .Metadata: Manitoba Forest Inventory –1960s https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/legal/OpenMB-Information-Data-Use-Licence.pdf
