The Corporation of the City of Kingston
2018-11-30 <p> This three-dimensional “point cloud” representation of the City of Kingston was captured in the fall of 2018 through a shared terrestrial LiDAR data collection project with The Department of National Defence Canada. 2018-11-28 <p> This three-dimensional “point cloud” representation of the City of Kingston was captured in 2008-2009 through an aerial LiDAR survey as part of the LiDAR Eastern Acquisition Project (LEAP) project in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. </p><p><img src="/assets/theme_image/lidar_aerial.png" style="background-color: initial;"/> </p><p> Due to the large size of these data, they are divided into coverage “tiles” across the city for ease of use and download. Open Data Kingston 2023-06-19 <p>Kingston's City Council meets the first and third Tuesday evening of each month at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of <a href="https://www.cityofkingston.ca/city-hall/about-city-hall" target="_blank">City Hall</a>, 216 Ontario St.  Council meets only once in July and once in August – unless Council votes to add another meeting. The mayor may also call special meetings of Council outside of the regular meeting schedule.</p><p><a href="https://www.cityofkingston.ca/city-hall/city-council" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" target="_blank">City Council</a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> is the body that governs the municipality of Kingston. Its decisions, made on behalf of the people of Kingston, guide the actions and priorities of City staff. The Council consists of 13 elected members: the Mayor and 12 Councillors (each representing a </span><a href="https://opendatakingston.cityofkingston.ca/explore/dataset/electoral-districts/" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" target="_blank">City district</a><span style="font-family: inherit;">). All elected officials serve a four-year term as mandated by the province's Municipal Elections Act. It is a questionnaire completed by kindergarten teachers for each student in senior kindergarten. One of the key measures of the EDI is the percentage of children who are vulnerable, which captures those that may be struggling to meet developmental milestones but have not been formally identified.  This population level data helps inform programs and policies that support healthy child development for all.
