Alberta Health Services 2020-08-11 Note: Date last updated 2022-07-13, dataset is no longer provided. From https://www.alberta.ca/covid-19-alberta-data.aspx; updated 2022-07-13 16:08 with data as of end of day 2022-07-11. Locations of outbreaks in acute care and continuing care facilities are reported publicly when there are 2 or more cases, indicating that a transmission within the facility has occurred. Outbreaks at other facilities or in the community are reported publicly when there are 5 or more cases. Outbreaks are declared over when 4 weeks have passed with no new cases, so not all outbreaks listed have current transmission happening. As a precaution, outbreak control measures are put in place at continuing care facilities and group homes with a single confirmed case. Outbreak information will be updated on Tuesdays and Fridays each week. Case numbers for outbreaks at specific sites are not provided online because they change rapidly and often.

The R value, also known as the reproduction number, describes whether cases are currently increasing, decreasing or staying the same. It tells us the average number of people that someone with COVID-19 will infect. For example, if the R value is: - at 1, then an infected person will infect one other person, on average - below 1, it means the rate of transmission was decreasing during that period - above 1, the transmission rate was increasing COVID-19 R values are updated weekly. Alberta Health Services 2022-01-21 COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and save lives. The vaccine helps prevent you from getting infected and protects you from getting severely sick if you do get it. Albertans are being vaccinated as fast as supply allows. This is happening in phases so people most at risk get it first. More groups will be eligible as we get more doses. Until most Albertans are protected, fully vaccinated people must still follow all health measures: no indoor gatherings, keep 2 metres apart, wear a mask in public, and stay home when sick. Data from https://www.alberta.ca/data/stats/lga-coverage.csv; updated 2023-08-29 15:15 with data as of end of day 2023-07-24. Each day's data is stored locally along with its "Data included up to end of day" date in order to build this historical record.

Alberta Health Services 2020-04-28 Note: Data last updated 2022-07-11, dataset no longer provided. COVID-19 case data for Alberta. Zone boundaries are outlined at https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/ahs-map-ahs-zones.pdf. This is a mirror of the full COVID-19 dataset published by the province at https://www.alberta.ca/data/stats/covid-19-alberta-statistics-data.csv. DATA NOTES (from http://covid19stats.alberta.ca): The Provincial Surveillance Information system (PSI) is a laboratory surveillance system which receives positive results for all Notifiable Diseases and diseases under laboratory surveillance from Alberta Precision Labs (APL). The system also receives negative results for a subset of organisms such as COVID-19. The system contains basic information on characteristics and demographics such as age, zone and gender. Recovered is based on the assumption that a case is recovered 14 days after a particular date. For confirmed cases, we used specimen collected date and for probable cases, this is the date reported to Alberta Health. Information such as hospitalizations and ICU admissions are received through enhanced case report forms sent by Alberta Health Services (AHS). Disclaimer: The content and format of this report are subject to change. Cases are under investigation and numbers may fluctuate as cases are resolved. Data included in the interactive data application are up-to-date as of midday of the date of posting.
