This dataset includes an Excel spreadsheet containing the EDS point spectra of plagioclase laths that were input into the plagioclase-liquid hygrometer model by Waters and Lange (2015), and the output from the model. This dataset also includes BSE images of the plagioclase laths (labeled with Site #) that are annotated with the spectrum numbers (listed in the Excel spread sheet).

This dataset contains the MATLAB code that solves for the velocity profile of a Couette-Poiseuille flow using the analytical solution by Mendiburu et al (2009), as well as the MATLAB code that solves for the velocity profile of a Couette flow where both walls are moving in opposite directions (used only to create schematic in Section 2.3.1). Both codes were coded by Erin Eves.

output calculated using the silicate melt viscosity model by Giordano et al (2008) through using the MATLAB application ViscoCalc (Bissbort, 2022), the melt density calculator following steps by Connor (2007) with the outputs from the calculator using the band composition estimates presented in Section 5.1, as well as a spreadsheet that calculates the Reynolds number given the viscosities, densities, flow rate (assumed to be equivalent to seismic slip rates), and width of the channel (pseudotachylyte vein).

This dataset contains EDS element maps complementary to those presented in Figure 4.23 showing rims surrounding survivor grains in the Homestake Shear Zone pseudotachylyte.
