Region of Peel - Human Services 2019-11-26 <div>Early years child population forecasts (0-12 years) are available by 2012 Service Delivery Area (SDA). An updated version of these forecasts is available in the <a href='https://data.peelregion.ca/datasets/early-years-forecast-sda17-2016-2041' rel='nofollow ugc'>Early Years Forecast SDA 2017, 2016-2041</a> dataset.  SDAs are a geography created in 2009 for service providers. SDAs were updated in 2012 to incorporate data from the 2011 Census. Peel has 77 SDAs. Early years population forecasts are consistent with the Regional Official Plan, sub-municipal data, and the Provincial Growth Plan.</div><div><br /></div><div>The forecasts are based on demographic analysis and knowledge of where growth and development can be accommodated within the Region.</div><div><br /></div><div>The forecasts were provided at 5 year intervals on Census years (2011, 2016, 2021, etc.).  Intermediate years were calculated using interpolation.</div> https://data.peelregion.ca/pages/license

Region of Peel - Human Services 2019-11-19 <div>The EDI is a teacher-completed instrument that measures children's school readiness for grade one on five domains:</div><div><ol><li>Physical health and well-being;</li><li>Social knowledge and competence;</li><li>Emotional maturity;</li><li>Language and cognitive development; and</li><li>General knowledge and communication skills</li></ol></div><div>Children who score below the 10th percentile in one or more EDI domains are considered to be vulnerable to not be able to meet the demands of school, which could impact their achievement of school success.</div><div><br /></div><div>Early Development Instrument (EDI) Scores for 2014-2015 are grouped into Service Delivery Areas (2017).
