Mostafavi Pak, Nasrin; Heerah, Sajjan; Wunch, Debra 2019-04-25 The excel sheet provide details of a methane (CH4) emission inventory for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) developed at the University of Toronto. A bottom up approach was taken to estimate CH4 emissions from five municipalities in the GTA: Toronto, York, Halton, Peel, Durham. Emission categories are Agriculture, Natural Gas, Waste Water and Solid Waste Management, Power Plant and Manufacturing, Wetlands and Transportation. The general approach for estimating emissions is to find the information on activity levels of each facility/activity area and use emission factors to find the annual emissions. In some cases, the emissions from the facility are reported to the Federal or Provincial government, and in those case the emissions were taken from the reported numbers. The tab-delimited text files contain 1 km by 1 km gridded emissions data for the GTA region, covering various emission categories along with the total aggregated emissions, presented in tonnes per year.

Hedelius, Jacob; Wunch, Debra 2019-09-10 This dataset includes a technical document describing a method of interpolation that conserves partition integrals or mass when partitions are not uniform in width. We used this method to interpolate profile measurements from Measurements Of Pollution In The Troposphere (MOPITT) onto a smoother grid. Also included is code written in Python 3 that will perform the interpolation.
