The Near-Urban Centrefire Prohibition Area (NUCPA) is a provincially-regulated prohibition of centrefire rifles for white-tailed deer hunting. This prohibition encompasses all or portions of the Rural Municipalities (RMs) of Headingley, Rosser, Rockwood, St. Andrews, West St. Paul, East St. Paul, St. Clements and Richot. Under the General Hunting Regulation (351/87) of The Wildlife Act (c. W130), no person shall have a rifle requiring a centrefire cartridge in his or her possession while hunting deer in lands identified as a Near Urban Wildlife Zone on Plan No. 20350 or 20525 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys.
